Post-Tension Recovery was founded by Josh Perry and Rich Breitling. Out of a calling to serve men at one of the most critical turning points in their lives—the moment they step out of incarceration and back into the world.
After witnessing the reality faced by men leaving the Maricopa Reentry Center, it became clear that release does not equal freedom. Many walk out with no support system, no structure, and no clear path forward. Without intervention, the cycle of addiction, instability, and incarceration often continues.
Josh & Rich felt a deep conviction that the Gospel of Jesus Christ must be paired with practical support in order to create lasting transformation. True recovery is not just spiritual—it requires accountability, discipline, and opportunity.
What began as a commitment to show up through weekly Bible studies, discipleship, and mentorship inside the facility has grown into a broader mission: to build a bridge between incarceration and restoration.
That vision now includes the development of a Christ-centered sober living environment where men can rebuild their lives with purpose—through stable housing, employment opportunities, financial guidance, and ongoing spiritual mentorship.
Post-Tension Recovery exists because every man deserves more than a second chance—he deserves the structure and support to walk in lasting freedom.
Our Founders' Stories
My name is Josh Perry, and I am truly honored to be in a position where God has given me the opportunity to help other men who are battling addiction.
This mission is personal to me. I have struggled with addiction for most of my life, and I know firsthand the weight it carries—the isolation, the setbacks, and the desire to change but not always knowing how. Everything began to shift when I found Jesus Chruch and became connected to a strong church community. The relationships and support I found there were something I had never experienced before—it felt like a dream come true.
Before I was baptized, my pastor asked me a simple but powerful question: “Why are you getting baptized?” My answer was clear—because God has helped me, and He has called me to help others.
Post-Tension Recovery was born out of that calling.
It’s more than just a program—it’s a mission to walk alongside men who are ready for change. Men who are searching for purpose. Men who want freedom. I’ve been blessed with guidance, wisdom, and support from so many people throughout my journey, and now I feel a responsibility to give that same help to others.
My goal is to help men find God, build strong foundations, and overcome addiction—not just temporarily, but for life.
This is about restoration. This is about purpose. This is about becoming the man God created me to be.
My name is Rich Breitling. I spent much of my life caught in addiction and prison, a struggle that began at a young age and followed me for decades.
When I was 13, I lost my father to addiction, and for years I found myself walking down the same path. It shaped my decisions, my relationships, and the direction of my life.
At 45, after a relapse on parole had sent me to the Maricopa reentry center, everything changed through the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ. What I could never fix on my own, He restored completely. My life today is the result of fully surrendering to Him, and allowing Him to rebuild what was broken.
Since that transformation, I’ve been given the opportunity to build a stable and meaningful life-restoring my family, establishing a successful Concrete business, purchasing a home, and living with purpose.
Out of that calling, Josh and I founded Post Tension Recovery, a nonprofit dedicated to helping men break free from addiction through a relationship with Jesus Christ. This mission is deeply personal to me. I know what it’s like to feel trapped, and I know the freedom that comes from true surrender.
Everything I have today is because of Christ, and my purpose is to help others experience that same restoration, freedom, and hope God bless us all.
